Have you ever had one of those days? Or maybe weeks? In the past couple of weeks, I’ve really enjoyed giving away free health strategy calls to help RNL followers Master their Metabolism. But there’s something that has me pretty ticked off. I spend my days talking with the most amazing men and women and most of them want to lose weight. That’s not why I’m mad. I’m mad because they all think they need to lose weight.
Do you ever find something repeatedly on the brain and then there’s that song? Or quote? Maybe both that just fit?
It happened this morning, I get in the car and hear “All About that Bass” by Meghan Trainor. I had heard this song but never really listened to it until today. Here’s what she has to say:
“Yeah, it’s pretty clear, I ain’t no size two
I see the magazine workin’ that Photoshop
We know that sh*t ain’t real
C’mon now, make it stop
If you got beauty, beauty, just raise ’em up
‘Cause every inch of you is perfect
From the bottom to the top.
Yeah, my mama she told me don’t worry about your size”
And then the moment I turn on my computer I see this:
You see, we’re all so much more than a dress size, a number on the scale, or calories counted in a day.
And when we only focus on weight loss, it’s pretty easy to miss the mark. I encourage my clients to love themselves and to focus on balance, health, and the present rather than forcing the body to a place it doesn’t want to be. Everybody and every body is different. Taking time to develop a healthy relationship with food and with your body is what matters most!
It’s my goal to teach both behaviors and the practices that will help you create a lifestyle that will keep you healthy and happy in the long term.
I don’t want you to have to go through the trouble, disappointment, and confusion that I have. Being healthy can be pretty simple. You just have to know where to look and who to listen to (like the above for the inspiration that Hollywood is starting to get it too!)
This is a message I hope will spread! Please share this post on Facebook.
