I’m Melissa. Dental Hygienist, Mom, Health Coach- turned blogger!

What I do.

I help busy women, just like you, thrive through strategic eating (not dieting) & lowering your toxic burden, so you can feel better. Look better. Sleep better. Live better.

My Story:

I have always had a passion for nutrition, exercise, and wellness.  In my twenties, I began having some health issues out of nowhere.  I developed allergies, began having chronic recurrent sinus infections, chronic fatigue, depression, thyroid issues, joint pain, inflammation, adult acne, vitamin deficiencies, and so on.  After two years of doctor’s visits and tests, I even underwent a serious surgery on my right ear.  That was when enough was enough.  I decided no more medicine or doctor’s visits.

I swore the natural route from that point on.  I partnered with an amazing Health Counselor for guidance and together we rebuilt my health.  Severe digestive issues, hormonal imbalances, food sensitivities, adrenal fatigue, metal toxicity, and Epstein Barr Virus were to blame.  It took well over three years to recover, but I am now full of energy, feel better than I have ever felt and even lost ten plus pounds in the process!  This entire experience drove me to reach out and help others who are going through similar issues, or who just want to lose weight and have more energy and vitality, all while preventing disease. I truly believe everyone deserves to have the most happy, healthy, full and energetic life possible and I have dedicated myself to helping anyone I can achieve it.

Where I received my training:

I received my training from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, where I was trained in more than one hundred dietary theories and studied a variety of practical lifestyle coaching methods.  Drawing on this knowledge, I help create a completely personalized “roadmap to health” that suits unique body, lifestyle, preferences, and goals. My education has equipped me with extensive knowledge in holistic nutrition, health coaching, and preventive health.  Drawing on these skills and knowledge of different dietary theories, I work with clients to help them make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.

I am also a Registered Dental Hygienist, who graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Indiana University, as well as an AFAA Certified Group Fitness Instructor. I am currently pursuing post grad work in clinical nutrition.  I am a volunteer for Kids Hope USA.  I am happily married to a Marine Corps Veteran and enjoy cooking, yoga, surfing, and hiking and spending time with my fabulous family and amazing circle of supportive girlfriends.
