Sunday morning my father peacefully passed away su Sunday morning my father peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones.

He was fun and funny, stubborn and smart. He was both our mom & dad, and had a huge heart. Every good quality I have was instilled by him. He was a wonderful grandfather to Blake and the person I went to with all my big decisions. We didn’t always see eye to eye, but he always supported me and made sure us girls knew he loved us.

My dad battled a rare aggressive stage 4 cancer. We spent the last 5 weeks caring for him with hope for more time together. It was a battle we lost and while we had some sweet and funny moments, it was so fast, and feels unfinished.

Please pray for my sisters and I. We are completely devastated and have a big job ahead of us finishing things as Dad would want us to.

Dad, this “two-face book” (as he’d have called it) post doesn’t come close to doing you justice. I love you more than you know, am so grateful you were my dad and will miss you everyday. I hope you and the boys are having a blast hot lapping in heaven.

❤️Your Lulu

UC Berkeley reported that 95% of lipstick contains lead!‼️You would never paint your house with lead paint, yet we lick it off our lips all day long 🙁

An expanded FDA study in 2010 found lead in 400 lipsticks at levels up to 7.19 ppm. Five of the 10 most lead-contaminated brands in the FDA study are readily available at drugstores.

Lead is not the only concern in lipsticks. A study by University of California researchers found nine toxic heavy metals, including chromium, cadmium, aluminum, manganese, and lead in testing of 24 lip glosses and eight lipsticks.

The cosmetics industry & FDA have ignored the findings of toxic metals in lipsticks, arguing that it’s not a source of concern because the dose is so low per application.

But, what both are ignoring is the issue of cumulative exposure; exposure to a little bit of a toxic chemical accumulated over time can add up to a significant exposure.

The University of California study, researchers found women applied lipstick from two to 14 times every day. In terms of chemical exposure, that translates into ingesting or absorbing as much as 87 milligrams of product a day.

Exposure to lead and heavy metals has been linked to a host of health concerns:

Neurotoxicity: It has been linked to learning, language and behavioral problems.
Reduced fertility in both men and women
Hormonal changes and menstrual irregularities
Delayed onset of puberty in girls and development of testes in boys.
What can you do?

Shop with a brand you know does third party testing for heavy metals. You guys know I love Beautycounter and the fact they third party heavy metal test is why I partnered with them to begin with. I appreciate the lengths they go to protect my health. Link at bio or DM me and I’ll build you a custom cart.

Don’t let children play with lipstick. Children are more vulnerable to the effects of lead, which can interfere with normal brain development.

How to build a nutritious and balanced smoothie yo How to build a nutritious and balanced smoothie your kid will actually drink:

1. Start with 1 cup liquid of choice. Try raw milk, coconut water, or your fave plant based milk.

2. Add some greens- I started my kids with spinach, since it's on the sweeter side. Start small and gradually increase- they'll never notice over time.

3. Use frozen fruit over fresh. It makes a nice cold, thicker smoothie that's more desirable to the littles.

4. Don't forget the healthy fats to keep them full, so you aren't dropping a sugar bomb into their system. 1-2 T nut butter, seeds, soaked nuts, avocado (use 1/3-1/2)and coconut oil all work well!

5. Superfoods for superkids- I love raw cacao to give that chocolatey flavor all kids love. Maca, acai, and goji berries are all kid approved!

6. Add extras like a pinch of ginger, ceylon cinnamon, or even collagen to bump up protein and increase health benefits (and taste!)

7. Use a good blender. They're an investment, but no one likes a chalky, chunky smoothie.

My favorite smoothie recipe in videos at bio.
