Natural Toothpaste Recipe from a Hygienist

An easy natural toothpaste recipe from a dental hygienist. This recipe will freshen breath and leave teeth feeling clean and your mouth feeling healthy.

Prep Time 5 minutes
Total Time 5 minutes

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp bentonite clay
  • 4 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1 tsp trace minerals
  • 1/2 tsp high quality salt
  • 1-2 tbsp filtered water
  • 10 drops peppermint or cinnamon essential oil

Instructions

  1. Mix clay, coconut oil and salt in a small bowl.

  2. Add trace minerals, then water 1 tbsp at a time. Mix well until you have a creamy consistency. It's possible you may need to add more water. If so, add 1 tsp at a time.

  3. Add desired essential oils and mix thoroughly.

  4. Store in airtight glass jar with lid. No refrigeration required.

To Use: Add pea size amount to toothbrush and brush as normal. Rinse well.

Recipe Notes

I only recommend using therapeutic grade oils, like these.

I also recommend only food grade bentonite clay (like this.)

This is the brand of trace minerals I recommend.
