I know so many women with great lashes. Some are just lucky, while others use latisse or get professionally done extensions. I’ve been using a great all natural beauty secret to get longer lashes that I’m so excited to share with you!

Here’s the deal: I did some digging and found the safety of Latisse is up in the air. Here’s an article if you’d like to learn more about potential risks. Additionally, I have concern about the glue that is used in the extensions, and if you’re like me, the time and money involved is an additional deal breaker.

I have recently learned about a fabulous trick that you and your lashes will love!

We must protect our eyes. Letting makeup filled with coal tar and petroleum that’s contaminated with carcinogens, parabens that promote aging and sagging skin, and acne-causing ingredients found in airplane deicing liquid drip into your eyeballs is not the answer! (More on toxic cosmetics here.)

Please make sure your mascara is safe by using the Skin Deep database to check your current brand (or read this post).  Some drugstore brands are actually pretty clean so don’t worry that you’ll be forced to switch from your favorite brand or to something ultra pricey.

Directions for a NEW bottle of mascara:

  • Remove the mascara applicator
  • Put 2 drops of Lavender Essential Oil into the bottle
  • Replace the mascara applicator and gently swirl the applicator (NEVER PUMP a mascara applicator. It pushes in air which helps bacteria grow.)
  • Each time you apply your mascara, simply swirl the applicator first to mix up the Lavender Essential Oil in the tube.

Want full lashes without paying for lash extensions and worrying about the harsh chemicals around your eyes? I use Beautycounter volumizing mascara for my first coat and lengthening mascara for my second coat. The photo above shows what my lashes look like after the routine above with no editing or filters.

Please PIN this Tuesday Tip now so you have the recipe for later!

  1. Great tip and info. I rarely apply mascara on my lashes for the reason being, I do not want bad stuff getting into my precious eyes✌️
