If you’ve been following Real Nutritious Living for a while, you’ll know I’ve been fortunate in that I am able to share healthy tips, recipes and other info on television and speak at other live events. That said, every time I have an upcoming event I am left with my closet doors wide open, scratching my head wondering what the heck am I going to wear!!  We’ve all been there. Enter my lovely and ultra-stylish as well as super healthy friend, Sheree Trask. Sheree is the owner and stylist of Mon Sheree Fashion Consulting and she kindly offered her expertise in dressing me. I cannot tell you how thrilled I was!! I pulled some of my trendier pieces for approval and some things that have been hanging in my closet but I haven’t been quite sure what to do with or how to wear.

So here’s how a typical appointment works:

Sheree will first meet with you and go over your expectations of the appointment and what you hope to achieve. She walks though your closet, pulling items out for different reasons, such as: they may look too worn, possibly outdated, or she may simply want to see how the shape works for your body type. From there she’ll discuss with her client why she removed those items from their closet and bag it to take with her to Goodwill.  She does this to avoid her clients temptation to falling into the same ol’ routine or those not so flattering pieces.  She provides a receipt in the mail so you get your tax a write-off too. The best color for your skin type, best fit for your body type, upgrades to current wardrobe, how to take pieces from day to night, how to accessorize,  etc. are all taught during these informative sessions, all while having a ball. Sheree is such a delight and what’s more fun than fashion ladies and gents?!?

Now Sheree offers a variety of service from mini to deluxe. Check out her website for all the details: www.monsheree.com.

Here’s what I got out of my appointment. I learned several new ways to wear things I already had hanging in my closet. I can now take many of my pieces and put them together differently to expand the wardrobe I already have. I love that! It saves me money and time. I was also introduced to some super fun pieces and new ideas to incorporate into my wardrobe.  I have a clear and concise list of things to shop for, as well as what stores may carry what’s best for my budget and body type. I learned what I should and should not be investing my hard earned money in.  I also learned how to build outfits around one key piece and the rules to successfully do so all on my own. I love Sheree’s philosophy that you do not have to spend a lot to look great (or be a size 2!) In the world of the fashion police and Grammy awards, it’s easy to feel like you’ve got to be rich or ultra-thin to look well dressed. She taught me so many easy ways to practically apply this principle with things in my very own closet.

I think the most valuable “piece” I walked away with was more confidence in what I’m wearing as well as my personal tastes and preferences. She gave me permission to be truly authentic, say to hell with the trends I don’t like or maybe felt like I should be wearing, as well as to love myself in each outfit I create. I am now more empowered with my unique sense of style. I am not sure how she adds this key element in her expertise, and I’ll say I usually like what I wear, but I am stoked for my next shopping and outfit adventure. I think what Sheree does would be of value to anyone, no matter what their profession, income level or waist size. She will help you feel beautiful in what you’ve already got. I highly recommend giving her a call today and finding out what she can do for you. At least click the “Like” button on her Facebook page. It’s loaded with a wealth of fun fashion ideas.
